Guide to Wheel Bearings
While small and often overlooked, wheel bearings are vital to trailer and caravan mobility. This guide will help you understand their function...
7 Leaf x 60mm caravan spring fits Jayco. It is expected to use replacement 705mm Shackle Springs on Jayco and other manufacturers’ tandem setups.
Springs are always measured when no load is applied. When springs are installed, the camber will shrink and the springs will lengthen.
It is important to note that your existing older spring will almost certainly be longer than 705mm because it is aged. If it is shorter then you are chosin gthe wrong spring, look at the 576066 or 576067
As springs age they lose camber and flatten. The next spring length to this spring is 840mm, therefore if you sprin gis close to 705, maybe 720 or longer then it has flattened out.
In an emergency, on holidays and stuck in an outback town, the best thing to do is to replace the broken spring and continue your journey.
At a suitable time, visit a weight bridge and weight your rig because it is likely the rig is heavier than you think.
Now your rig has the correct weight, consider replacing the other spring because it is likely to be damaged also.
You might even be surprised to learn that you need a spring upgrade becuase your existing spring is both under rated and over working.

Spring failures often occur due to the additional equipment loaded into your caravan over the years. We suggest putting your trailer over a weighbridge to get your exact loading or upgrading from a five-leaf spring to a six-leaf spring.

Spring upgrades are not uncommon on tandem setups. They tend to reinvigorate your caravan’s towing capacity to a new standard.
60mm wide shackle is more adaptive and can withstand shock loading and twist better than 45mm springs.
