It’s common to use D-shackles as connectors between the safety chain and the tow bar. D-shackles are inexpensive, easy to attach and detach, and provide a secure connection, making them a convenient choice for trailer and caravan owners.
The size of the pin can be difficult for some to remove; in this case, the 10mm hook set may be a more convenient option.
