Tow Ball Hitches and Receiver Bar Kit
Important: We recommend off-road couplings of all brands use a solid cast receiver hitch. Hollow receivers have a welded tongue that distorts in extreme offr-oad conditions and under shock loading events on the highway.
Couplemate™ 70mm Tow Ball Tow Hitch Receivers are made from Solid Cast Iron. Because of their strong and robust material, Genuine Couplemate™ trailer hitches guarantee a strong connection strength between your trailer and tow vehicle.
Over time, cast steel products are superior to fabricated/welded products. Welded ball mounts and hollow receivers can distort under off-road conditions and shock-loading events on the highway. When inverted, hollow hitches are at a greater risk of deforming.
The included DO35 tow pin kit is perfect for those with a 2nd tow vehicle looking to avoid swapping the pin each time they change trailers. Alternatively, this towing kit also suits individuals looking to replace the existing receiver bar to a more off-road orientated unit for their DO35.

- 1 x CM524 4500kg 100mm Drop Cast Receiver – Australian Made
- 1 x CM296-1 – 32-22mm Reducer Bush
- 2 x Stainless Steel Shims (0.5mm)
- 2 x Stainless Steel Shims (0.9mm)
- 1 x Standard DO35 Tow Pin
- 1 x Pin Cover
- 1 x C-Spanner
Please note, that the tow pin has a 7/8″ – 22mm shaft. The reducer bush is required to be fitted within this kit.

What is Hitch Rattle? How Do You Stop It?
We’ve included a set our CM256 Stainless Shims to create this Anti-Rattle Tow Ball Hitch Kit.
Rattle occurs when there is too much “free space” between components. For example, if you have a loose tow bar tongue, the rattling comes from the steel of your tow bar vibrating against your hitch receiver. The noise is often louder when there’s no load on your tow ball (i.e. no trailer attached).
Shims are supplied “pre-cut” so that you can optimise the fitment for your needs.
