Combination Pintle Hook | 6.0t Ring & 3.5t Ball Couplings
The Couplemate™ CM500 Combination Pintle Hook is engineered to provide convenience and consistently safe towing. The Genuine Couplemate™ product has a yellow horn and is the preferred choice in the Australian agricultural, logistics and mining industries.
An example of a rating is a 10-t trailer towed by a 10-truck; the D-value is 49kn. (Refer to the table below for the calculation of your towing combination.)
Another example is a 20-ton truck that can tow a 6-ton trailer; the D-value is 45kN. The table below shows variable towing capacities.
Combination Pintle Hooks eliminate the need to switch your tow vehicle hitch regularly. You can tow trailers with a 50mm ball coupling and a ring coupling with one product.
For smoother towing with a ring coupling, Couplemate™ recommends investing in a Tow Ball Protector.
N.B. If you intend to tow mainly with ring couplings, Couplemate™ recommends the CM532 Premium Combination Pintle Hook.

D-Values for Trailer & Truck Couplings
D-Values assign ratings to tow couplings.
For example, 50mm ball couplings have a D-value that is determined by:
- Maximum towing vehicle mass of 5000kg.
- Maximum trailer mass of 3500kg.
