3″ Tow Ball for Australian Gooseneck Couplings
Gooseneck trailers and fifth-wheelers require larger towing equipment due to their increased capacity. This 3-inch towball is rated to a 10,000kg maximum ATM, and is designed for the Couplemate™ Australian-style Gooseneck coupling (CM520).
Each unit is supplied with:
- 1 x High-Tensile Tow Ball Nut (1-1/4″ UNF)
- 1 x Zinc Flat Washer (5mm thick)
- 1 x M10 Split Pin (100mm length)
N.B. The ball thread is not pre-drilled.

3″ Tow Ball for 10.0t Gooseneck Coupling
The CM298 was designed and manufactured to suit our CM520 Fifth-Wheel coupling (CTA-047029).
This ball can be used in a 40mm tow bar mount position. For plates 40mm or smaller, Couplemate™ recommends the use of 10t Ball Collars to assist stress load resilience (sold seperately).
All installers must ensure the mounting towbar and/or bedplate are fit for application prior to installation.
Made from Special High Tensile Steel
Our internal engineers and production team quality check all manufacturing materials.
The Couplemate™ 3-inch tow ball is manufactured from Grade 4140 high tensile steel. As an engineering steel, 4140 is universally known for its strength and robust composition.
Given Australia’s tough towing conditions, 4140 steel provides the necessary mechanical properties to ensure sufficient strength and security.
