Dust caps are protective caps placed over devices to prevent dirt, dust, and other contaminants from damaging them. The grease escapes from the bearing cavity without dust caps, causing the bearing to run dry and fail.

The dolly fits all slimline and standard hub, disc rotors and drums.
It’s so simple, and it’s surprising this device has not been used extensively. Once you own one, the dolly will provide decades of excellent service.

Another name for a dust cap is a grease cap. A popular myth is the grease cap should be full of grease when installed.
The grease cap, or the Dust Cap, catches excess grease once the bearing cavity heats up and expels excess lubricant.
The Australian 2t dolly also fits American 2.441″ grease caps.
We use these grease cap dollies in our workshop. Although many different hubs are on the market, some do not have chamfered entry points for the bearings.

Dust caps can range in size from 1.78 inches up to 4 inches. The largest dolly made by Couplemate is 63mm; however, if you wish to have a larger size, call us.
Finally, the dolly is made from medium-tensile steel K1045, making adding caps to a hub, drum, or disc rotor easy—no more bruised knuckles.
