40mm Square Axle – 750kg Maximum Rating
40mm Square Axle is rated up to 750kg on LM bearings for single axle trailers and 1500kg to suit tandem or dual axle boat trailers
Add 100mm to the Face to Face measurement for tip-to-tip measurement. The axles listed here are face-to-face. The face measurement is where the studs are located on the hub, not the end of the hub.
The length of the axle is measured from tip to tip; however, it can also be calculated from hub face to hub face. The axles are supplied with a nut, washer, and split pin.
Please note: Reduce axle capacity to 600kg when installing wide tyres on standard bearings.

- Outer ID 19.05mm, OD 45.20mm
- Seal ID 37.5mm, OD 59.10mm

Heavy loads on light axles create what we call axle flex. Axle flex results in vibration at high speeds, which occurs in the middle of the axle.
The result of axle flex is premature ageing of the trailer springs and vibration at high speeds.
Wider trailers require square axles for the best suspension performance.
