10-inch Galvanised Disc Rotor

10-inch Ford galvanised disc rotor brakes boat trailers up to 1450kg. The foundation of this superior galvanised disc rotor was high-grade steel.

This disc rotor sets the industry standard for disc-braked axles and is the most popular rotor in our galvanised axle builds.

Common Problems

Disc rotors, particularly non-hot galvanised disc rotors, can rust severely over time.

The standard thickness of Australian disc rotors is 15mm. Rotors are often sanded down to remove rust, which is quite acceptable; however, 11mm is the minimum recommended thickness before the disc rotor should be replaced.

The disc rotor in the image is 7mm, which can cause disc pads to jump out of position because the pads are also worn.

The rotor in the photo has not been scoured by the disc pads; however, it has been scoured a few times over many years as the rust has eaten into the metal.
