✔ Align Shoes & Adjusters: Ensure your brake shoe notches align perfectly with the brake adjuster to avoid drum overheating.
✔ Check Magnet Wear: Routinely check the built-in wear depth indicator holes on the magnet face; if they aren’t visible, replace the magnet.
✔ Match Compatibility: Verify your backing plate style (e.g., AL-KO or Dexter lever configurations) matches your existing hub drums.

Don’ts: Common Mistakes

✖ Don’t Tap Taillight Wires: Avoid wiring your brake magnets directly to the taillight circuit, as thin cables cause severe voltage drops.
